Aluminium 1100
Your guide to Aluminium 1100
__________
Typical industrial pure aluminium alloy
Excellent corrosion resistance
Increased strength at sub-zero temperatures
Aluminium 1100 is a typical industrial pure aluminium alloy. When machined in the hard temper, aluminium 1100 has excellent machinability. It is recommended to use carbide tooling or high speed steel tooling. An oil lubricant should be used where heavy cuts are required.
This guide will take you through the main attributes, common applications, notes for designers and suitable finishing and treatments, as well as UK stock sizes and property tables. Don't forget to bookmark the page so you can refer back later.

1100 Guide: Properties, Applications and Design Considerations
__________
What is 1100?
Aluminium 1100 is a typical industrial pure aluminium alloy. It has excellent corrosion resistance and benefits from increased strength at low temperatures but is not suitable for use at higher temperatures as strength is compromised.
You may also see 1100 referred to as the following tempers:
- O, F, H111, H112, H12, H14, H22, H24
- H32, H34, 38
- T4, T6, T651, T6511
- T7351
- H18
Other designations include:
- UNS J91100
- 1100-O
- UNS A91100
- ISO AI99.0Cu
- NF A45 (France)
